PROVIDING GARDENING AND LANDSCAPING SERVICES
Our business idea involves providing gardening and
landscaping services for homes and businesses in the local area. Sector
analysis shows there is a shortage of such companies in our region. We believe that garden service industry has a great potential for growth because people
want to have beautiful greenery around their houses. It wholesomely connects
indoor and outdoor living spaces so people can relax and enjoy them in the
company of friends or family.
Competition analysis shows that there are two local
competitors. Our approach will be different from theirs in that we will focus
on providing a very individualised service and will work closely with our
customers to make their wishes a reality in the best way possible. Our services
should provide satisfaction to everyone involved, most of all to customers, of
course.
We hope to make a name for ourselves by delivering high
quality services to local customers at reasonable prices. By focussing on local
customers, we ensure that transport costs remain low and our prices competitive
with the prices of competitors from other regions.
We hope to attract older people who would appreciate help
with the maintenance of their gardens. We also hope to attract young people
without experience in this field as well as people with a fast pace of life who
do not have time to do such jobs themselves.
Our company will be accessible on the Internet. This will
make our services visible to a wide range of potential customers. The Internet
will be used for promoting our services as well as Cable TV, leaflets, and
business cards. The prices will be set so that our business is profitable.
We plan to start with three employees, two full-time
gardeners and a professional who will manage the accounts and help out with
other works as needed. We will encourage our employees to take advantage of
professional courses to keep up with the constantly changing trends – extra
knowledge is never superfluous.

ReplyDeleteThis concept would be great for Miami as there are both an older crowd of residents that could and or are using landscaping companies, however your focus on the customer relationship would greatly impact the customers willingness to use your services. Also, with regard to working with younger clientele with little to no experience sounds like an AMAZING idea! The thought that my gardener is going to teach me about my plants is a lesson that is rarely taught, as usually they service a house and move on to the next one. Marketing using internet and social media sounds like a fantastic idea. I would add to that the ability to schedule a free consultation/trial that can be scheduled directly from Facebook or from the website (iCal integration).
The two adaptations for the Miami market is hiring someone who has a good knowledge of the plants and agriculture within Florida. And also, I would recommend that they be bilingual in both English and Spanish.
Thank you for comment. Learning about plants takes a lot of time and effort. This time is well spent, but not immediately paid off.
DeleteI could make my website multilingual but I think that it wouldn’t be necessary because I’m counting on local customers. On the other hand, one never knows-maybe it would be a good idea if foreigners come to our town.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion this is an excellent idea. This could be very useful in Miami because the weather conditions allow for greens to be in constant growth. However this means that competition will be much tougher in Miami. I like that this business is concerned on the knowledge of their employees. To adapt in Miami they would have to prepare for more competition by studying the land, market and competitors.
Thank you for your comment.
DeleteI agree, if I were offered this service in Miami, I would have to study the market even more. I would also need to inform myself about country's laws - there might be some major differences that I should be aware of, before starting my own company.

ReplyDeleteIf you have only two competitors in your location I say go for it! Competition increases business, the fact that consumers have more options is a good combat. As for doing business in Miami, I suggest that you look elsewhere, if you were to visit Miami you will probably catch four or five gardening/landscape service trucks per day. Keeping it local sounds like a wise decision and creating a social media plan is a good call, for the younger crowd. When it comes to social media you might want to ask questions like: What sort of costumer will use social media? How much time does the customer take in social media? The fact that you know which customer to target and how to inform them about your business is great!!!
Thanks for your comment.
DeleteFirst of all, I will offer activity only locally, if my activity is going well, I will then spread in Slovenia, possibly also Italy.
Miami will defenetly wait for a while - it's really far away from me.

ReplyDeleteGardening is very popular in Miami, so I think it would be a great idea to offer this services in a different way from your competitors. For me, the best part of your plan is that you would also offer this service to young people who have no experience and would like to learn about it. Personally, I would like to know the different ways to keep my garden as beautiful as possible, so I don’t feel ashamed when I invite my friends or family. I agree with the person who commented before me, who said that in order to adapt in Miami, you’ll have to prepare for more competition by researching the land, markets and competitors.
Thanks for your feedback.
DeleteYes, I would really enjoy working with younger generations as well and I could also give them the card with my contact informations so they can reach me online or by phone and get additional pieces of advice if any problems occur after my service or just a tip for better maintenance..
Miami would definitely require even deeper analysis.
This is another excellent idea for Miami. The weather conditions are perfect for outdoor greenery when considering how frequently it rains in Miami. I like the idea of working very closely with the customer in order to meet their needs first and let them paint the picture of exactly what they want. To adapt to Miami and connect with the younger market they need to develop a strong social media presence. I also like how they mentioned they will be promoting the idea through cable, leaflet, etc.
ReplyDeleteThank you for replying and all the nice words.
DeleteI'll do my best!
