Spending holidays in the nature is getting more and more popular, so we have decided to build a small glamping site in the area of Park Pečno in Kanal. We also want to expand the tourist offer in Kanal and to make Kanal a well-known tourist destination. The glamping site will have a mini zoo with domestic animals, such as goats, ducks and ponies. Its visitors, especially children, will be able to take care of them. We will also offer local food from a local eco farm. Visitors will be able to make reservations online and the local products will be sold online, as well. The glamping site will offer a good starting point for recreational activities and tours around Kanal. The park itself already offers an outdoor library, a downhill track, an archery area and a lot of hiking trails. The service focuses on couples and families from Slovenia and abroad. Our business idea involves starting a brewery and making homemade beer. The advantages of our homemade beer will be its ingredients: hops grown in Slovenia, good quality yeast needed for fermentation, spring water which contributes to a better flavour of the beer and organic barley which improves the overall quality of the beer. We will offer unfiltered beer which keeps the original taste without additives and flavour enhancers. To start the business we plan to rent a place in order to meet food safety requirements. Our business plan involves providing bee products and expanding beekeeping from the current 70 beehives to 140. Beekeeping is considered an additional activity to farming. We will need approximately 18,000 € to start the business. We produce honey, propolis, beeswax and pollen. Last year we also tried producing mead and we were very satisfied with its quality, which encouraged us to expand beekeeping and make mead on our own. Sector analysis shows there are few mead producers in our region. The major threats that could cause trouble for the business are bee diseases and inclement weather which can destroy the habitat for flowers and consequently reduce the collection of pollen.
